Hound & Hammer - The Grover Burnished Tobacco Suede

The original “desert boot” was created as a comfortable casual shoe able to survive harsh desert conditions. We think our version works just as well walking downtown streets or propped up on the railing at your favorite watering hole. We made ours just a tad taller than the classic, with 5 eyelets in place of 2 or 3 giving a fresh twist to an old standard. This style features a hand-crafted “stitch-out” construction, that we pair with a TPR (Thermo-Plastic- Rubber) unit outsole- acclaimed for its slip-resistance, flexibility and durability. As a nod to the original we have given the outsole a crepe texture. Besides classic suede (which we also hand-burnish along the edges, toe and heel) we also offer two versions in buffalo leather: black and a daring “oxblood”. The Grover is built on the Rambler last, featuring a strong high-walled toe character that is at once bold and comfortable.

I absolutely love these dress casual shoe/ boots!!! They are very comfortable. I must say they totally over delivered on my expectations upon delivery! The delivery was fast. The Shoebox was cool and there were 2 surprises in the box in addition to my shoes. I won't tell you, I will just to let you be surprised when you get your pair. And yes, you should definitely get a pair or two. They are true to size to my regular size foot. They don't need an insole, but I did try one for the heck of it. Just a little tight with the insole, not bad. I could have loosen the laces more with the insole in, but I did not try that. I took the insoles out and it was very comfortable as is. The shoe is completely leather inside and out, expect the sole of coarse. The shoe is a solid consistent tobacco brown color as most of the pictures show. I saw one picture that looked as though the toe of the shoe was waxed or darker, but that is not the case. The whole shoe is one solid consistent color which I like very much. I plan on getting another pair or two from the Hound and Hammer collection in the future. I have had them for several months and I wear them all the time.
